North Las Vegas Police Department chooses Hardcat to track and manage assets
The North Las Vegas Police Department’s mission is to encourage and engage the community to work as one in order to provide a safe, secure, and enjoyable community. This is accomplished by protecting lives and property; maintaining social order by enforcing federal, state, and local laws; working in a collaborative effort with the community to identify problems and disorder; and involving the community in the search for solutions.
The Police Department is committed to having a positive impact in the City of North Las Vegas by reducing crime, reducing the fear of crime and enhancing the quality of life in the community. The Department has four commands, which are divided in seventeen divisions. The Department is staffed by a total of 839 employees (458 commissioned personnel and 381 civilian personnel.

The City of North Las Vegas Police Department, as the second largest in the State of Nevada and one of the largest in the U.S. has experienced unprecedented growth over recent times and had identified effective management of all of its assets from purchase through to disposal as a necessity for future operations. It sought a cost effective, integrated, automated solution. |
The Hardcat Solution expand

The solution selected was Hardcat’s Core Asset Management, Barcoding, Preventive Maintenance and External Interface Software coupled with Topaz e-Signature technology.
The total solution would permit the City of North Las Vegas to take a leading position in terms of managing its assets 'cradle to grave'. What’s more, the Hardcat solution would decrease the amount of effort expended to control and account for all of its assets saving the City tens of thousands of dollars. |

The ability to know where all assets were and assigned to was very important.
- Once the City of North Las Vegas Police Department installed their new Hardcat Asset Management software they were quickly able to get a handle on all assets.
- In addition they were able to manage assets that previously were not managed at all. These assets included but were not limited to radio’s, laptops, weapons, badges, uniforms, vehicles etc.
